Radiant Photo 2 includes sidecar file functionality, ensuring you never lose creative adjustments.
- The software automatically saves all editing settings in a lightweight, XML-based sidecar file alongside an image.
- This allows you to reopen their photos in Radiant Photo 2 at any time and continue editing exactly where you left off.
Whether fine-tuning a previous project or exploring new creative directions, this feature enhances flexibility and streamlines the editing process. In fact, you can even start editing right off a memory card and continue later where you left off after transferring the files to your hard drive.
Saving a Sidecar File
By default, sidecar files are automatically created. To modify these defaults, click the Settings icon.
- A sidecar file is updated when you advance to the next image in the Filmstrip
- Sidecar files are created when you close any open image
Additionally, you can manually create a sidecar at any time. Just click the More menu (…) in the Filmstrip.
- Choose Save per image settings to save settings for the current image manually. This is useful if you have the AutoSave option disabled or you want to capture settings mid-edit.
- Choose Clear per image settings to remove the stored settings on disk. This action also reverts the adjustments to the default Develop Setting for the detected scene.
- To clear all settings for an image, click the Reset button in the top toolbar to re-analyze the image and apply the workflow’s default develop setting.
