The second area of control affects the color of your images. Because tone will often affect color, be sure to work with the Tone controls first.

The color tools help to adjust the colors in your image. Due to the linear nature of the digital camera sensors, your photos often look washed out.  This is because film cameras captured details using a logarithmic scale, which used a natural curve that offered a boost of color in the shadows and highlights zones.
