When an image is first opened, it is compared to the active workflow you have loaded. It is scored and matched to the closest scene based on a detailed analysis.

  • Only one scene is selected for an image from the list below the workflow
  • You can override the selected scene and choose a different one if desired
  • Each scene has a default option set for develop settings, which affects which tools are used as a starting point

While a default adjustment is applied for each scene, you still retain complete control over the photo. Generally, the default setting is fairly neutral but designed to be used on a photo with little to no preprocessing. Depending on your preference, you may want a lighter or stronger change.

  • Use the suggested setting as-is
  • Start with the settings loaded, but modify them to taste.
  • Switch to a related develop setting in the same collection
  • Open other collection folders and click to try others

If you pick a different develop setting as your favorite (or have saved a custom preset to the related My Group… these can be set as the default for the scene.

  1. Activate the desired develop settings preset (if custom, be sure to save it first)
  2. Click the more menu ( … ) in the Workflow header
  3. Select the Choose default develop settings option
  4. Click the bookmark icon next to the desired setting
